Zero Gravity

These ultra-lightweight brakes are available at iBike. The new 0G-05 Ti model CNC-machined, 7075 are claimed to weigh 83g for a rear caliper and 85g for a front. A pair of Dura-Ace brake calipers, for comparison, weigh 314g.

Zero Gravity brakes achieve their trivial gram count by use of a CNC-machined caliper and incorporate a cam system that's claimed to provide better stopping power than conventional designs. Other features include: titanium hardware; fully machined pad holders; a redesigned spring for balanced arm movement ; and a titanium cable clamping bolt with more clamping surface area to prevent damage to the cable. The new powercam produces a staggering 25% more force.

The heart of the brake is the patented cam lever. An engineered solution to power gain and weight loss. The parts are made from the best materials available and are backed by certifications of chemistry and temper. All parts and hardware are CNC machined and are made in the United States of America.

The brakes are used by Ivan Basso of Team CSC (he used them at last year's Alpe d'Huez Time Trial in the Tour de France).
