Nicolai

The fabrication of a high end bicycle frame involves a vast number of individual production steps, all of which Nicolai carry out under one roof.

The basic raw material from which they build their frames is Aluminium. It is delivered in the form of blocks and tubes. Nicolai used several butted tubesets from EASTON® as well as aircraft grade 7020 and 7005 aluminium tubing. Milled parts which are not welded are made out of Al Cu Mg 1 aluminium.

All milled parts are made in house from raw aluminium or from semi-finished extruded aluminium profiles made especially for Nicolai. Nicolai have three advanced CNC workstations in use. These produce the 220 different milled parts that are used to make their frames and components. The artisans at Nicolai have a dedicated milling workstation which is used to produce the parts for the new G Boxx frames.

Nicolai take great pride in their anodizing and powder coating options and offer a wide choice of finishes and custom options. These fantastic frames are not mass produced machines. Each one is a work of art.

At iBike we have both the Nicolai Helius CC and the Helius FR available as demo bikes. Try them out. You will fall in love with them.
